Long-Standing Worker's Compensation Claim Settled
A long-standing Worker’s Compensation claim against the Town of Cope, South Carolina finally came to a close after a settlement was reached.
At the February meeting of the Cope Town Council, the town’s mayor, Janet Joye, announced that the town had agreed to pay John Pierson $7,500 for claims that he had suffered personal injuries on the job while working on improvements to Riley Park.
According to Joye, the money would be held in trust until it had been determined that Pierson had released the town, the members of the town council, and the contractor employing him from further liability.
