A man from Liberty suffered personal injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle in Randolph County on the morning of March 17.

The accident took place on Wayne White Road near Climax. According to troopers from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist, Robert Haase, received air transport to Duke Hospital with a broken leg.

Troopers said the driver of the vehicle that struck Haase said that they were unable to see him because of the morning sun. That driver was charged with unsafe movement.

The other driver's identity was not immediately made available.
