Lauringburg Pedestrian Killed In Accident
A man from Laurinburg suffered fatal personal injuries on the night of February 7 after he stepped into the path of a vehicle on Modest Road in Lumberton, approximately three miles northwest of Maxton, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
The report filed by Trooper A.M. Humphrey said that 38-year-old Martin Harrison Holt was walking on the east side of the road shortly after 7:30 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet van driven by 23-year-old Maxton resident Thomas Samuel Locklear after stepping into the road.
Humphrey said that Holt was wearing dark-colored clothing.
