Kinston, NC Man Suffers Pit Bull Attack

A man's face was left torn and bloodied after two pit bulls attacked him as he was taking out the trash near his Kinston, North Carolina, home last week. As the two aggressive dogs scratched at his face, 69-year-old L.H. Clemmons ran back to his home and out of danger, but not before being slammed against a brick wall by the dogs.

The dogs escaped from a neighboring yard -- and the dogs' owner suggests that his dogs have been attacked by the Clemmons family over the last few years. One of the dogs, Max, was handed over the SPCA, although the other dog involved in the pit bull attack was not taken away. The owner of the pit bulls is planning to move away from the neighborhood.

Clemmons suffered over 30 stitches as well as facial scarring from the pit bull dog attack. Max will not be put to sleep, though he will be classified as a dangerous dog. Clemmons is now consulting with a North Carolina dog bite attorney.
