
A 34-year-old man from Kenly has been charged after an accident on June 6 in which two female pedestrians suffered fatal personal injuries.
According to police, Jimmy Vincent Coleman was driving a vehicle that struck the pedestrians shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Raleigh Road Parkway.
The victims died at the scene of the accident. Their names will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
Police charged Coleman with two counts of felony death by motor vehicle and one count of driving on a license that had been revoked. He was taken to Wilson County jail and placed under a $100,000 secured bond.
The accident remains under investigation.
Coleman has prior convictions, including burglary, vehicle break-ins, and larceny from 1995 and 1996, according to records from the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
