Holly Springs Police Officer Injured

On October 9, a police officer from Holly Springs suffered personal injuries after responding to a domestic disturbance.

Shortly before midnight, a police got a call about a man who had reportedly been stabbed in the abdomen at a South Main Street residence.

Upon the officers’ arrival at the scene, they apparently discovered two women fighting, one of which was the mother of the man who had been stabbed.

When Sgt. Paul Creek attempted to stop the fight, the injured man, Michael Shane George, got up and jumped on him. The officer fell through a window at the home, causing him several cuts and bruises, including lacerations to the face.

Creek received transport to WakeMed, where he was treated and released.

According to authorities, George attacked Creek when he attempted to arrest George’s mother. Police have not said who stabbed George or released information about the severity of his injuries.

Police arrested George on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting/obstructing a public official.
