Hoke County Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run

A pedestrian in Hoke County sustained fatal personal injuries on the morning of November 1 in a hit-and-run collision, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

A spokeswoman said the incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. on Oak Tree Mile, about a mile east of Raeford.

The identity of the victim was not immediately made available, but he has been identified as a male.

The vehicle, which is believed to be maroon in color, struck the victim and fled the scene, leaving the man lying on the side of the road, according to the spokesman. He died approximately 20 minutes later.

The spokeswoman said the vehicle is believed to have damage to the right front panel near the headlights.
