Head On Collision Injures Six
Six people were injured in a head-on collision on Bailey's Crossroads Road Monday afternoon.
A Chevrolet van driven by Juan Carlos Sevilla-Cruz was headed north toward McGee's Crossroads when he crossed the centerline, hitting a Chevy HHR driven by Rebeka Surles. The Surles' vehicle was pushed nearly 20 feet down the road.
Miranda Surles, three years old, was a passenger in her mother's vehicle.
Cruz' wife and 2 children were passengers in the van.
Cruz was charged with driving left of center and driving without a license. According to Trooper J.B. Harvey, Cruz was completely in Surles' lane. There were no skid marks from either vehicle. Estimated speed was around 55 mph at impact.
The injured were transported to WakeMed in Raleigh.
