Franklin County Teen In Recover After Surviving Accident That Killed Two
A teenager from Franklin County is in recovery from the personal injuries he suffered in an accident in which two of his college classmates were killed.
Kendric Reid, 19, an incoming Wingate University freshman, was released from the hospital after completion of his treatment. In the crash in which he was injured, two 18-year-olds were killed and another was listed in critical condition.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of the vehicle ran a stop sign and drove into the path of an oncoming truck. All four occupants of the vehicle were part of an early academic program at Wingate.
The NCHP said that alcohol was not a factor in the accident and all four students were wearing their seat belts.
