Fourth Person Dies After I-95 Crash

A fourth person involved in a head on collision south of Lumberton on April 25 has died of the personal injuries he sustained.

Later that same night, 48-year-old Dillon, South Carolina resident Stephan Campbell died after receiving helicopter transport to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, according to N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Greg Steffens.

Campbell was traveling along Interstate 95 in a 2002 Buick sedan when he crossed the median and collided with a southbound Toyota SUV. All three of the Toyota’s occupants died at the scene.

Steffens said that Campbell was en route to his work at Smithfield Packing in Tar Heel and that his speed was estimated to have exceeded 90 miles-per-hour.
