Four Injured In Three-Vehicle Crash In Pitt County
Four people sustained personal injuries in a three-vehicle crash in Pitt County on January 23 according to North Carolina state troopers.
Troopers said that 22-year-old Cove City resident Dario Diaz was driving a Ford Ranger on Leary mills Road and ran a stop sign at the intersection with N.C. Highway 43. Another vehicle struck the Ranger, which collided with a third vehicle.
Diaz and his passenger, 29-year-old Cove City resident Paloma Evelin, were pinned inside their vehicle. After being extracted, they received transport to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in fair condition, according to troopers.
Troopers said the two other people involved, whose identities were not immediately made available, also received hospital transport but are doing okay.
Troopers charged Diaz with running a stop sign and driving without a license.
