Fire Truck Collides With SUV In Raleigh

A Raleigh crash involving a fire truck and an SUV in which personal injuries were suffered is being investigated by authorities.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on February 12, a truck from Fire Station 1 was traveling along South Dawson Street responding to a call on Capital Boulevard when it collided with another vehicle at the West Martin Street intersection.

The fire chief at the scene said that one firefighter received transport to the hospital after pulling a muscle in his chest.

There was no fire discovered at the location of the original call.

The ladder truck involved in the crash is a substitute for a tiller truck that was destroyed in a crash on South Dawson Street last year.
