A woman suffered fatal personal injuries on the morning of March 2 after her car ran off Skibo road and was briefly airborne before landing on a fence and overturning, according to police.
According to Lt. Chris Davis of the Fayetteville Police Department, 26-year-old Fayetteville resident Ashley Marie Sharr was southbound toward Raeford Road shortly before 2 a.m. when she lost control of the 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage she was driving.
Davis said the car then struck the curb, leapfrogged a pickup truck, and landed on a chain-link fence before turning over onto its roof and sliding further before eventually coming to rest.
Police say Sharr died at the scene.
Davis says that speed is believed to have been a factor and it is not known if Sharr was wearing her seat belt.
