Falling Plaster Injures Two Greensboro Construction Workers

Two North Carolina construction workers were injured while on the job in Greensboro on Wednesday afternoon at around 3 PM. According to authorities, the two men were renovating the Foust Hall dormitory at the University of North Carolina – Greensboro (UNCG) when plaster from the first floor ceiling fell onto the workers, injuring their backs and legs.

The workers were demolition subcontractors working for Clean Air Environmental and were part of the construction project on campus to replace old windows, revamp bathrooms, replace the fire alarm system, and install a new sprinkler system. Both Foust Hall and Guilford Hall are involved in the renovations.

The Guilford County EMS and Guilford County firefighters responded to the emergency call and transported both injured construction workers to a nearby hospital for treatment. It is unclear what caused the stucco ceiling to collapse during the renovations.
