Fairmont Woman Killed In Crash
On June 14, a woman from Fairmont died of the personal injuries she suffered when she lost control of her vehicle on Pleasant Hope Road and struck a tree shortly after 12:30 a.m.
According to Trooper B.K. Covington, 46-year-old Mary Lois Locklear was traveling north in a 1994 Oldsmobile when she crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the road, returned to the road, then crossed over to the right side where it left the road again, striking a ditch and partially overturning into a tree in the front yard of a nearby home.
Covington’s report said that Locklear was traveling at approximately 70 mph in a 55 mph zone and was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
