Elderly Couple Injured In Accident
An elderly couple had to be airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital after receiving injuries from a serious accident on U.S. 301 near Elm City last Friday.
A truck pulling a trailer, owned by Chair and Equipment Rentals Inc. of Rocky Mount and driven by Marisol Oquendo, was stopped in the northbound lane of U.S. 301 waiting for students to get off of a school bus.
According to the report made by Sgt. R.T. Futrell of the N.C. Highway Patrol, the stopped truck was hit by a 2006 Chevrolet and a 1988 Dodge. Evonne Cameron, driver of the Chevrolet, has two passengers with her. They were Lucille and Herbert Rountree, both 80 years old.
Jennifer Coggins was the driver of the Dodge.
The accident is under investigation.
