A woman from Durham suffered fatal personal injuries on the morning of December 11 when the car she was driving ran off of Interstate 40 to the right and collided with a sign post, according to Durham police.
Police said 21-year-old Tiffany Lee Boyd was westbound on I-40 near the exit for N.C. 55 when the accident took place around 3:30 a.m.
Two passengers in Boyd’s vehicle, 22-year-old Durham resident Jermany Alston and 20-year-old Durham resident Tedra Hayes, received transport to Duke University Hospital. Another passenger, 20-year-old Otis Mosely, received treatment at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
