Driving Too Slow Caused Accident

Driving Too Slow Caused Accident

N.C.  State Troopers charged John H. Watkins, 65, with impeding traffic and failure to comply with a driver’s license restricting him to drive in daytime hours on Interstate 40 in Sampson County Monday.

Watkins was driving a pickup truck 10 m.p.h. in the left lane of I-40 East through Faison shortly after midnight. The driver of a Honda Accord, whose name was not released, saw the truck in the lane ahead of him. Both of the drivers swerved to the right at the same time. The vehicles collided with Watkins’ truck running off the road and overturning.
