Driver Charged In Fatal Fayetteville Crash

Court records show that the driver of a truck that caused a wreck involving fatal personal injuries on Elliott Bridge Road in Fayetteville during a snowstorm on December 16 has been charged.

On December 21, 39-year-old Spring Lake resident Israel Solis Beltran was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, according to documents.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that Beltran was driving a Ford F-150 and lost control of the vehicle, which slid across the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Corvette driven by 50-year-old Sanford resident Larry Leo Raines, who died in the crash.

According to documents, Beltran was driving at a speed “greater than was reasonable and prudent under the then existing conditions.”
