Driver Charged For Fleeing Fatal Charlotte Accident
Police arrested a driver they say fled after a crash in western Charlotte involving fatal personal injuries.
According to police, occupants of the vehicle involved in the crash were fighting when the driver, Saul Martinez, ran off Dixie River Road around 3 a.m. on April 24.
The car collided with a utility pole and a tree before overturning and coming to rest on its roof.
One of the vehicle’s passengers, Rodolfo Perez, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other passengers were in the vehicle. Police say they may also be charged.
