The Animal Services Unit of the Asheville Police Department is looking for information in two incidents in which people suffered personal injuries from dog bites on February 25.
In the first incident, which occurred at approximately 10 a.m., a man was taking food to his hotel room on Tunnel Road when he was jumped on by a dog. He pushed the dog off of him and it responded by biting him.
In the second incident, which occurred around 11:30 a.m., a woman was exiting her car in a parking lot on Biltmore Avenue when a dog that had been running loose bit her.
In both of the incidents, the dog responsible for the attack was described as a pit bull terrier with white and black fur wearing an old blue or green collar.
Officers searched the surrounding areas, but as of February 26, they had not yet located the dog or the dog’s owner.
