Dog Bites Three, Including Owner, In Colorado

Police and the Humane Society say that the incident occurred as two relatives were entering the owner’s home when the dog attacked, leaving them with moderate to severe bite wounds on their lower legs requiring care from the hospital. The dog then turned on the owner when she tried to subdue him, resulting in a minor wound to the leg.

According to Ann Davenport of the Humane Society, though the majority of dog bites take place in the home, this was an unusual case due to the dog attacking without warning. She says that dogs will not generally attack someone unless they are overcome by fear or stress or are defending their territory.
