Dog Bites Man, Owner Claims It Was Defense

A couple from Lone Tree, Iowa who is being sued for the personal injuries their neighbor sustained after the couple’s dog bit him in the face claim that the German shepherd was protecting them.

Jack Sines filed the suit in Johnson County, Iowa against Stephen and Doreen Brorby alleging that they failed to properly supervise their dog.

According to Sines, he went to the Brorby home to talk to them about their barking dogs when one of them leapt onto the fence and bit him. He claims the dog was ordered to attack him.

According to Doreen Brorby, she was mowing the grass when Sines starting throwing bricks at her. She said she fled into the house and the dog attacked Sines because he was attempting to enter the fenced-in yard.

She denies that she commanded the dog to attack. She claims that police responded to the incident and warned Sines about trespassing.
