Dodge Pickup Truck Sought In Hit-And-Run Accident Near East Flat Rock

The Times-News out of Henderson, NC, reports that the North Carolina Highway Patrol is seeking information in the case of a hit-and-run case that occurs on Sunday night. The police know they are looking for a Dodge truck from the 80s from parts of the truck left at the accident scene.

William Garrick, a 34-year-old from East Flat Rock, NC, was hit while walking his bicycle on U.S. 176 when a pickup truck struck him from behind. The cyclist is in stable condition at Mission Hospital, although he has suffered serious head and back injuries.

"The Dodge left the scene," Trooper Chris Jeffries said. "It will have damage to the front right and the right side mirror is probably gone."

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police, and those working at body shops in the area have been asked to keep an eye out for a matching truck with front-end body damage.
