Deep Gap Woman And 6-Year-Old Injured In Collision
A woman from Deep Gap and her 6-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital for the personal injuries they suffered in a crash on N.C. Highway 105 Extension on April 4.
According to Officer Joe Knapp of the Boone Police Department, at around 2:45 p.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 23-year-old Apex resident Kaitlyn Keene collided with a Toyota Corolla driven by 49-year-old Deep Gap resident Carolyn Huskins.
Knapp said that Keene was pulling onto N.C. 105 Extension and apparently failed to yield the right-of-way to Huskins.
The accident caused the Jeep's front bumper to be ripped off and the Toyota's windshield to shatter.
Huskins and a 6-year-old boy that was a passenger in her vehicle received transport to Watauga Medical Center.
