Davidson County Crash Involves 10 Vehicles
On August 19, North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers reported that rain caused a multi-vehicle accident in which personal injuries were suffered and traffic on Interstate 85 in Davidson County was blocked for several hours.
In the accident, a tour bus was unable to stop in time while approaching the scene of a minor accident, causing the larger accident just south of the Rowan County line shortly before 7:30 a.m. on August 19.
Troopers say a total of nine cars in addition to the bus were involved. Officials say five people received transport to the hospital for minor injuries. One was sent to Lexington Memorial Hospital, the other five were sent to Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Troopers say one car was balancing on the guardrail upon their arrival at the scene.
