On the morning of November 4, a two-vehicle wreck on N.C. Highway 191 left one woman dead and another in the hospital with serious personal injuries.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. S.R. Jones said that 40-year-old Hendersonville resident Sarah Kathleen Young was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones said that shortly after 10 a.m., Young was northbound in a 1996 Subaru on N.C. 191 near Mountain Road when she ran off the road to the left and lost control of the vehicle, which returned to the road before crossing the center line into oncoming traffic. The vehicle struck a Ford truck head-on.
The truck’s driver, 41-year-old Mills River resident Amy M. Posten received transport to Pardee Hospital with injuries that were considered serious, but not life-threatening, according to Jones.
Jones said that speed was not a factor and both drivers were wearing seat belts.
