Couple Killed, 3-Year-Old Injured In Accident Near New Bern
A couple has died and their 3-year-old child suffered personal injuries in an automobile accident in eastern North Carolina.
According to reports from multiple media outlets, 27-year-old Alsheen Wooten and his wife, 23-year-old Temikia Gooding Wooten, were pronounced dead on August 13 after their car collided with a dump truck on N.C. 43 near New Bern. The child was transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Benson said that the vehicle was traveling too fast for the conditions at the time, hydroplaned on the rain soaked road, and crossed the center line. The car’s passenger side impacted the dump truck.
