Collision Involving Church Van Kills N.C. Pastor
The pastor of a North Carolina church was killed in a collision that also injured seven others.
According to reports, Rev. Ronnie Wilson of Southpoint Free Will Baptist Church in Belmont, N.C. was killed in the accident Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred on Highway 903 east of Lancaster.
The services at his church were cancelled on Sunday, but members gathered with the deacons of the church to pray.
Rev. Wilson had pastured the church since 1999.
Wilson was driving a van with four men. Wilson and the men were returning home from an annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach.
Rev. Wilson swerved to miss a trailer that had lost a tire and hit a pickup truck head-on.
The accident is being investigated.
