Cherry Springs Village Nursing Home Ceiling Collapses In Hendersonville NC

When you put a loved one into a nursing home or adult care center, you want them to be safe and healthy. However, all too often, the negligence of the nursing home owner could put your loved one in danger.

This week in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the residents of Cherry Springs Village Nursing Home had to be evacuated after part of the building’s ceiling collapsed. The collapsed ceiling affected an entire wing of the nursing home, putting 21 residents into danger. Nursing home officials reported that the structural problem was caused by frozen water pipes that someone triggered the building’s sprinkler system.

None of the 21 residents affected by the roof collapse were seriously injured, though they had to be transferred to two other area nursing homes in Brevard and Hendersonville. It is not clear if this issue should have been prevented by the nursing home owners.
