Charlotte Woman Dies After Collision Causes Her Car To Collide With House

A Charlotte woman died of the personal injuries she suffered after her car was struck by another vehicle, causing her vehicle to collide with a home in North Davidson on March 20.

According to North Carolina State Police, 41-year-old Eddie Ellison ran a red light at the intersection of Parkwood Avenue and North Davidson Street, resulting in a collision with 25-year-old Latia Winchester. Troopers say he made a U-turn to avoid a checkpoint set up on North Davidson Street and led them on a chase.

Troopers say he fled from the site of the crash on foot, but was apprehended shortly afterward. He received hospital transport for the injuries he suffered.

Ellison was driving on a revoked license. Troopers say charges will be filed against him, but did not specify the charges.
