Charlotte-area Dog Attack Injures Boy
Not far from Charlotte and Rock Hill, a dog attacked an 8-year-old boy in June 2012. The boy had abrasions and dog bites over his entire body, according to local Charlotte reports.
The dog was tethered on its owners’ property when the boy was attacked. Witnesses nearby helped to rescue the boy by hitting and distracting the dog. The attack wasn’t as severe as the fatal NC dog attacks that took place last year. A few dog attacks that already occurred in 2012 have left victims requiring extensive reconstructive facial surgeries and scarring.
No information was released about the dog’s history, if previous attacks or aggression occurred, however reports show that the boy and the dog knew each other and had played well on many past occasions. The dog was euthanized less than a week following the attack.
