Melvin Burton, a customer of Casino Queen, has filed a personal injury suit seeking more than $50,000 in damages after a June 1 incident around 1 a.m. when he slipped and fell on water while waiting to cash in his receipts. The complaint was filed in the Circuit Court of St. Clair County, Missouri.

According to Burton, an employee of the East St. Louis, Missouri casino who was walking in the same area as him, “negligently slipped and fell” grabbing his arm in the process in an attempt to prevent her fall, resulting in Burton falling to the ground and being injured.

Burton alleges negligence on the part of the casino for knowingly allowing the water to remain on the floor. He also claims a failure to install safety signs.

Burton claims to have sustained personal injuries to his right shoulder and lower back as a result of the fall.
