Cary Man Dies In Wreck

North Carolina state troopers said that speed was a factor in a single-vehicle crash in which a 22-year-old Cary man suffered fatal personal injuries on the morning of February 7.

According to Sgt. Jeff Gordon, N.C. Highway Patrol spokesman, Jeffrey Tabor Post Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The accident took place shortly before 8 a.m. on Lake Wheeler Road north of Penny Road, Gordon said.

Gordon said that a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Post ran off the right shoulder, reentered the road, and ran off the shoulder again before going down a short embankment, overturning once, and colliding with a tree.

Investigating troopers said speed was a factor, but have not made public what Post’s estimated rate of speed was at the time of the crash.

Gordon said Post was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
