
A man from Cary has been arrested on a charge of felony hit-and-run after an accident on the night of May 9 in which personal injuries were suffered, according to Cary police.
According to arrest documents, 23-year-old Luis Perez-Betancourt has also been charged with drunken-driving after the crash, which took place on Walnut Street.
Police say that Perez-Betancourt ran a red light at the intersection of Dillard Drive and Walnut Street and collided with a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Carlos Vasquez.
Perez-Betancourt fled the scene, but police later apprehended him.
Vasquez received transport to WakeMed in Raleigh, where he was listed in fair condition.
Perez-Betancourt is currently being held in Wake County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
