Car Pinned Under Dump Truck In Wake County
Car Pinned Under Dump Truck In Wake County
After about two hours, rescue workers were able to remove a female from her vehicle that was trapped under a dump truck in Wake County.
The dump truck overturned onto the vehicle on Davis Drive Monday afternoon.
Edmund Jackson of Connecticut was operating a Freightliner dump truck on Davis Drive when he ran off the right side of the road. Jackson overcorrected and crossed the center lane into the path of a Honda Civic, driven by Kara Benton of Holly Springs.
The impact caused the sand and gravel to shift, causing the truck to overturn on top of the Honda.
Chad Benton, a passenger in the vehicle with Kara Benton was able to get out. Two tow trucks were used to lift the dump truck off the Honda.
Kara Benton was airlifted to WakeMed.
The accident is under investigation and charges are pending
