Bolton Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash
A man from Bolton died of the personal injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash on November 21 in Columbus County.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on the day of the crash, 26-year-old Jason Freeman died on Blacksmith Road, according to N.C. State Highway Patrol 1st Sgt. Stuart Mitchell.
Mitchell said that speed may have been a factor, as Freeman may have been driving at a speed of 70 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Freeman was alone on his motorcycle when he lost control. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash
Mitchell said that Blacksmith Road connects Old Lake Road to U.S. 74 and connects Bladen and Columbus counties.
