Benson Man Critically Injured In Crash

According to North Carolina State Troopers, a 19-year-old man from Benson sustained critical personal injuries on the morning of February 20 when his vehicle collided with a tree.

Troopers said that 19-year-old Keith Hamilton apparently fell asleep at the wheel, resulting in the car he was driving running off the road at Raleigh Road and Elevation Road, west of Four Oaks, at about 7:15 a.m.

Emergency dispatchers said that Hamilton became pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated through the roof. He received air transport to WakeMed in Raleigh, where his condition was listed as fair as of the afternoon of the crash.

According to family members, Hamilton was on his way home from his shift at a McDonald’s restaurant at which he is employed at the time of the crash.
