Beach Accident Injuries in NC
5/15/2012North Carolina beach crowds spike after Memorial Day, and so do beach accidents.
Beach accidents don’t necessarily happen in the ocean or the surf. Beach areas that allow four-wheel-drive vehicles will often report collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians.
In the case of a Charlotte, NC woman who was laying on a beach in Florida, a lifeguard truck rolled over her. The woman, Rinda Mizelle, was stuck underneath the truck and had to be rescued by lifeguards, according to local news reports. The injuries from her beach accident included lacerations, burns and neurological and orthopedic injuries.
Beach accidents can result in serious injuries since emergency services are often times not nearby. Time is of the essence for brain, spinal and back injuries, not to mention cuts that could be infected by debris on the beach.
