Autryville Wreck Claims One Life And Injures Five
A woman lost her life and five others were injured in a two-vehicle wreck Monday night on N.C. Highway 24 near Autryville.
A Honda Civic was traveling east on N.C. Highway 24 when it ran off the road to the right. The driver, whose name was not released, over-corrected and traveled, left of center. The vehicle then crashed head-on into a Pontiac with five people in it.
Beatrice Newman, a passenger in the front seat of the Pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene.
The names of the other injured people were not released.
The accident is under investigation and charges are pending.
