Apex High Student Struck By Vehicle While Chasing Bus

An Apex High School student suffered personal injuries after being struck by a car while running to catch a school bus on Holt Road on the morning of March 18, according to school officials.

The student, whose identity was not immediately made available, was running from behind the bus as it made a stop at Holt Road and Daleshire Drive on its way to Apex high School, said school spokesman Greg Thomas.

Thomas said the bus' driver had already made the vehicle's stop and closed the doors before spotting the student.

As the driver waited, the student was hit by a vehicle that had previously stopped for the bus, Thomas said.

The student received hospital transport with a possible broken leg.
