Angier Man Dead In Crash Near Coats
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that a man from Angier suffered fatal personal injuries on February 23 when his pickup truck ran off Dixon Road near Coats and overturned.
According to the report filed by Trooper Benjamin Taylor, 43-year-old Charles Blake Gregory was southbound around 6:11 p.m. when he lost control of the 2008 Ford he was driving while rounding a curve.
The truck ran off the road to the left, hit a ditch, collided with a fence, overturned, and came to rest on its roof, according to the report.
The report said that Gregory was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Taylor said the truck was traveling at an estimated rate of 75 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Gregory received transport to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital, where he later died.
