An Alamance County sheriff’s deputy sustained personal injuries on the night of July 26 when she lost control of her patrol car while responding to a call.
According to North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper B.S. Norton, the crash took place shortly after 11 p.m. when Deputy J. Brown was northbound on N.C. 49 South and lost control of the vehicle while coming out of a curve.
Norton says that Brown then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the center line and end up on an embankment on the left side of the road. Norton received transport to Alamance Regional Medical Center after the crash. She was released after treatment.
According to sheriff’s spokesman Randy Jones, Brown was en route to an alarm call at Shamrock Golf Course that may have included the possibility of a man with a gun.
