Accident Fatal For Harrell's Man
Accident Fatal For Harrell's Man
A man from Harrells was killed last weekend when his vehicle skidded to the left of the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
James Tart of Harrells was killed Saturday afternoon after the vehicle he was driving skidded around a curve on U.S. 421 south, about six miles south of Clinton.
According to reports, tart was traveling at a speed greater than reasonable for the road conditions. Tart’s vehicle was traveling about 55 mph at time of impact. Tart was not wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred.
After crossing the centerline, Tart struck a 2001 Ford passenger vehicle driven by Violeta Cuahutle-Rodriguez of Clinton. Cuahutle-Rodriguez was also traveling 55 mph and not wearing a seatbelt.
Cuahutle-Rodriguez was carrying two passengers, Ana Perla and Henry Garcia Cuahutle also of Clinton. The two passengers were wearing seatbelts.
The passengers were treated at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Both vehicles were towed and estimated damages to Cuahutle-Rodriguez was approximately $4,000.00.
