Abt Associates Will Consult With SSA About Future Improvements

The Social Security Administration has announced that a number of research firms will be assisting them in implementing a new program known as Benefit Offset National Demonstration. The research companies will be paid $121 million over the next nine years.

The SSA program will explore the concept of retaining benefits at higher levels of earning in order to increase rates of employment and income for those collecting Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). In addition, the researchers will work on a new SSA communications strategy and call center. Finally, Abt Associates will train and assist employees at local SSA offices with.

How will this new contract work affect those receiving SSDI or SSI benefits? Hopefully the consultants will help the SSA become more efficient and more effective.
