The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that a man from Aberdeen suffered fatal personal injuries on the night of January 25 after being struck by a car on N.C. 211 near the Hoke county line.

According to a report filed by Trooper J.C. Boroughs, the accident took place shortly after 7:30 p.m. about four miles east of Aberdeen.

Boroughs said that 21-year-old Eddie Eugene Polson was walking in the highway’s northeast lane in the direction of Aberdeen when a 2007 Toyota driven by 54-year-old Fayetteville resident Brenda Edwards Sutton.

The report said that Polson received transport to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
