9-Year-Old Girl Suffers Facial Injuries From Pit Bull Attack In Charlotte

On July 23, a 9-year-old girl suffered personal injuries when she was attacked by a pit bull mix in Charlotte.

The girl, Giselle Moquete, received transport to Carolinas Medical Center with facial injuries. Her mother says that she is expected to be fine, but required dozens of stitches.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the family was in at the east Charlotte home of Jonathan Hall, who was showing the dog to them in hopes of selling it to them when it suddenly attacked the girl as she tried to pet it.

Apparently, the dog latched on to the girl’s face and mauled her until Hall managed to pull her free.

No one knew much about the dog. Hall said the dog was given to him the day before by a man he didn’t know. He said the man was trying to give the dog away, so he took it.

"I feel bad because that little girl didn't deserve that," Hall said.

The dog was taken away by Animal Control officers.
