80-Year-Old Charged In Crash That Killed Cary Motorcyclist
On September 10, police charged an 80-year-old woman in connection to an August crash in which a Cary motorcyclist suffered fatal personal injuries.
Police charged Cary resident Doris Yates Upchurch with misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to yield right-of-way in connection to a crash on August 24 in which 54-year-old Tomoichi Martin Cummings was killed.
Cummings was traveling north on Davis Drive when Upchurch, who was heading south in an SUV, turned left onto Waldo Rood Boulevard in front of Cummings’ motorcycle, according to police.
Upchurch was not injured in the collision.
