A 7-year-old boy from Fort Lupton, Colorado required Med Evac transport to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado on October 25 after he sustained severe personal injuries from being attacked by a dog.
On the day of the incident, the boy was playing in the back yard of his neighbor, 38-year-old Mario Garcia-Guaderrama. The dog attacked the boy, causing him severe injuries, including a puncture wound to his left temple that was so deep that his skull was exposed and his lower lip being bitten completely in half.
Fort Lupton police Sgt. Kevin Halloran called it the worst bite that he had ever seen. He said that the boy was stable at the time of transport.
According to Halloran, Garcia-Guaderrama, the dog’s owner, was given a summons for an animal causing danger, which requires an appearance in municipal court.
