7-Year-Old In Recovery After Pit Bull Attack In Lincoln County

A 7-year-old boy is in recovery from the personal injuries he suffered when he was attacked by a pit bull mix on January 21.

The child, John Ellis Nixon, was bitten in the face by the dog, resulting in severe injuries to his head. The boy was at his neighbor’s house when the attack occurred.

An incident also took place in September in which another visitor to the house was bitten by the dog. It was picked up by Lincoln County Animal Services on January 24 due to the 7-year-old’s attack being the dog’s second.

If the dog is determined to be dangerous, it could be euthanized.

The child’s mother said the dog’s owner went to their home and personally apologized for the incident.
